What is IIT-JEE?

IIT-JEE stands for Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination. This examination is annually conducted by the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). IIT-JEE is also known as a single admission test for all 23 IITs. This exam is taken by various IITs each year on Round Robin rotation based pattern. It is considered as one of the toughest examination in the world because of its very low acceptance ratio of less than 1%.

In 2017 IITs will start conducting JEE at the international level to give admission to foreign students. In 2013 JEE examination replaced by a two-phase test which includes JEE Mains and JEE Advanced Examination. Before 2013, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted two separate examinations; AIEEE and IIT-JEE. I think you should have one big question that why such huge amount of student participates in this Examination and what are the benefits of passing JEE exam? Let’s find out.

  • JEE Mains examination is for admission in the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) and many other top technological insititutions in India. One important note is that if you are selected for JEE Mains exam, then only you are eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced and only 200,000 students are selected each year.

Now you can understand the importance of JEE exams. Few of the many benefits of clearing JEE examination are as following:
